The main goal of the project: Reducing the risk of floods and the negative consequences of climate change

Brief description of the project: Bystričany is located in the Prievidza district, which is the core of the upper Nitra region in the Trenčín self-governing region. 1791 inhabitants live in the village with a cadastral area of 37.61 km2. The population density is at the level of 47.62 inhabitants/km2. The river Nitra flows through the northwestern part of the Bystričian cadastral territory, and smaller tributaries from the surrounding area also belong to the river, the most important of which is the Bystrica stream. The proposed water retention measures are designed on a flat terrain in the suburbs of the village of Bystričany in the vicinity of apartment buildings, the post office and the pharmacy.

Area of proposed water retention measures: 1,558.20 m2.
Total area from which rainwater will be collected: 1369.9 m2

Contracted amount of NFP: EUR 213,845.35
