Opening of the renovated park near the apartment buildings

This year's opening of the cultural summer started on a pleasant Friday afternoon, on June 21, 2024, in the area of the new park built near the apartment buildings of our village. We are very happy that the citizens were able to view the result of another successfully implemented project that we created as part of water retention measures from the European Union under the name "Rainwater retention in the village of Bystričany". The main goal of the project is to reduce the risk of floods and the negative consequences of climate change. However, we are not finished with the transformations and works in the park. Already this year, we are expecting the construction of a pergola and seating shading, new public lighting and a new multi-functional children's playground.

The ceremonial opening of the park began with a symbolic cutting of the green ribbon by our mayor, who also addressed the citizens with his speech. During this day, the municipality also prepared a pleasant cultural program for children and other participants of the event. The program featured Divadlo pri kolkárni, the musical trio ThreeM's, accordionist Dominik Krpelan and also DJ Braňo. Popcorn or cotton candy was prepared for the children, which this year was provided by the municipality on its own with the help of our MP, Marek Dobiš and his wife, for which we also thank them in this way.

After the ceremonial opening of this beautiful public space, we still lack an answer to answer the question, "What will be the name of the park?" Therefore, if you have an idea, an idea of what the park could be called, let us know. We'd love to hear your suggestions and then choose the most concise and appropriate name.

We really wish that this park will become a popular and frequently visited place in our village, where the inhabitants of the village will be able to relax, chat and spend pleasant free time here, which is so rare these days.
